But now it seems like The Astronauts in a recent Twitter conversation with fans revealed that "Microsoft's Parity Clause" might be the reason behind why The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is not currently planned for Xbox One.
When a fan asked that does an update on game's official website "we're coming to PS4 first" means that it will arrive on Xbox One at a later time? The Astronauts replied: "Honestly don't know. I wish it were simple, but e.g. MS' parity clause might be a problem."
In another news, Adrian Chmielarz confirmed that The Vanishing of Ethan Carter trailer that was showcased at Playstation GamesCom 2014 conference was not CGI as termed by "GameSpot" but 100% real-time.
Additionally, Adrian revealed that Sony helped development team at The Astronauts and they are happy to port The Vanishing of Ethan Carter to Playstation 4
So there you have it folks,Nine months have passed since the launch of Xbox One but it seems like controversial "Parity Clause" ghost continues to haunt Microsoft and indie developers. If you missed out on the PS4 trailer that was showcased yesterday, watch it now.
My Opinions & Thoughts: The game so far looks great. Sort of looks like Murdered Soul Suspect which wasn't a bad game in my opinion, so i'm looking forward to this game. We rarely get detective games now a days, so I hope we see some more on The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, as for it not coming to Xbox One. I think its a fair trade Xbox gets Tomb raider for a few months and we get The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter, this is just another example in my opinion that Microsoft needs to stop trying to tell developers how to make their game, the actual article stated Microsoft's parity clause would make it difficult for them so it just goes to show how anti developer Microsoft is in my opinion.
