What Features would You like to see on the PlayStation 4 in the near future?

With the next PS4 update coming in the fall, what do you think Sony could also do for the next software update?

PlayStation Greenlight: Just like Steam Greenlight, I think it would really awesome if PS4 owners got something similar in a PS4 update.

PlayStation workshop: Just like Steam workshop, I think it would be great for Sony to have an update the involves something similar to allow players to mod their games, etc. It worked last gen on very few games such as unreal tournament so I don't think it would hurt if Sony was the first console manufacturer to allow mods on most of their games. This has always been an interesting feature that I always wanted on consoles. And since these consoles run on PC architecture I think it could be very well possible that we will see mods become available for games in the near future possibly.

PlayStation Communities: Just sort of like Steam communities, you could create, join, etc communities for games, created by other gamers, etc. To bring gamers more connected with each other that share a common interests in certain games, groups, etc.

Google Hangouts available in the Live On PlayStation section just like Twitch and Ustream and soon to be YouTube. As well as the ability to share on Google Plus.

Game Gifting for other PSN users, sort of like Steam gifting. Or PlayStation Trading (Steam Trading) with other users, like one trades one digital game for another from another PSN user who owns that game but wants the other game. I think that would be a cool feature for PS4.

Wishlist feature for the PS Store and maybe even allow it to be public (that could go with game gifting), sort of like how on Steam you can allow other users to see your wishlist. I think it would be great.

Any other features you guys want to see on PS4 in the near feature?

  1. First, I can conclude that you just want the PS4 to be steam.
Second, I don't think they will never allow mods, since Playstation is a closed platform, unlike the PC.
Third, all other suggestions are horrible.

  2. I agree with the colonel. What I urgently need is the ability to pause downloads, I can't believe Sony forgot that one, since it's part of PS3's features.
